Frayed

This is the most recent look I posted on Lookbook and so far my favourite!
I've really been loving anything checked, so I nabbed this black and white gingham crop top from my sister's wardrobe and paired it with a black frilled net skirt that came from an old Halloween costume- since I have bought my own top which I adore. It also just so happened that the outfit worked really well with some of the flowers in my garden which I thought looked really cool!

I really love how the strict geometric patterns of the top and the loose ragged netting on the skirt contrast each other. I thought it drew a line between it being grungy and pretty.

To finish it off I just added my patent navy blue Dr Martens and some sunglasses from Pimkie that I bought when I went to Paris a few months ago- it was such a great trip and it was so sunny so I just had to buy some!

It also just so happened that the outfit worked really well with some of the flowers in my garden which I thought looked really cool! Whenever I take pictures, I find I tend to fuss over the background a lot, to me it's just as important as the foreground, so when I took these pictures I thought all the greenery just added colour to the picture that I didn't get from the outfit :) I also really love fantasy as a genre so all the ivy on the fence behind made it look a bit more erm fantastical?
Anyway, coming up with this outfit was really fun and I can't wait to do some more little shoot things :)
Thanks for reading, see ya next time maybe!

Hi there

Hi! I've wanted to start a blog for a while but a). I haven't been entirely sure what to post and b). it's taken me ages to work out how because technology isn't exactly my best friend. I absolutely love anything creative and I basically thought it would be a nice way to experiment with exploring my interests/potential career aspirations etc so I suppose I'll just see how that goes! I'll be back with maybe some reviews or Lookbook posts or anything else sometime in the near future.

To end, here is a sketch I did a while back of the Cheshire cat from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland :)
Thanks to anybody who popped by to read, have a lovely day! x
